This Irish brand leader is much favoured by Irish households but is premium priced in supermarkets. However buying in bulk at Brown Bin Rescue and with free delivery they cost you much less. Made with plant starch a renewable resource, bags break down quickly to nourish the soil when home composted, and nourish the compost in an industrial unit.

The Compostable bag keep’s a large pedal or swing top bin clean. Most of these type of bins have a removable insert bin, so this can be removed with the bin bag to carry to your wheelie bin. The insert can appear damp when emptied but the bag has not leaked it has been breathing, so in a closed in environment this appears as damp on a closed bins walls.

This compostable bag apart from being used for food waste and compostable paper and card waste, is often bought by those who care about their environment and do not want to use a plastic bag for general waste.

Note! PxW (Pay by Weight) effective from July 1st 2016 enforces the use of the Brown bin in almost all Irish households.

Compostable bags are branded with ‘Greensax Logo’ easily identifiable as Compostable and not plastic or low quality import. Collection can be rejected if not clear what the bag is made from. BBR Note! Low cost bags in supermarkets often only have ‘Welded’ joints which can cause the bags to rip when being dethatched from the roll.
